The photograph shows the cross section with a confluent hemorrhagic consolidation on the left, corresponding with a sonographic white lung (sonogram 1 and 2). Punctate hemorrhagic “microlesions” on the right side of the specimen correspond with the B-line pattern sonograms (3 and 4).
