The scope of cardiovascular interrelationship with diabetes section includes research related to the cardiovascular relationship and mechanisms in diabetes, metabolic disorders, hypertension, autonomic dysfunctions and chronic diseases. The section encourages articles from clinical trials on cardiopathy diabetes, epidemiology, metabolic studies, information systems and methodologies implemented to monitor, measure and improving medical care quality.
Endocrinology Mechanisms section aims to publish research information on the endocrine metabolism involved in diabetes development and physiological disorders. The primary focus is on hormonal regulations and dysfunctions including gender aspects of insulin resistance, mechanisms of insulin, growth factors, beta cell functions, lipid mediators, disease interactions and pathogenesis. The section accepts studies on signalling mechanisms and clinical outcomes, methodology aspects and novel alternative therapies.
The section welcomes articles on genetic studies and genomic analysis on the causes generating diabetes. This also includes gene function and regulatory relations resulting in metabolic disorders, epigenetics, pharmacogenomics and polymorphisms for diabetic diagnosis and therapy. The section also considers studies on family genetics and related disorders.
Gestational and Pediatric Diabetes section focus on the diabetic conditions among women during pregnancy, initial screening, diagnostic performances, personal and family history of diabetes, risk assessment, treatment modifications, food safety and long-term considerations for monitering the offspring. The section also includes primary healthcare and clinical practices on diabetes in newborn children to the age of adulthood.
Diabetic complications section publishes articles on research involving dysmetabolic disorders and complications like diabetic nephropathy, diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, skin and foot complications. Also, it considers the studies on diagnosis, pathogenesis, related syndromes and clinical management to prevent diabetes.
