Computer-aided drug design

CADD studies computational methods which are used to facilitate design and discovery of new therapeutic solutions. CADD is an exciting and diverse discipline in which various aspects of applied and basic research merge. Molecular mechanics and dynamics are most commonly used to predict the conformation of small molecule.

Drug targets

A drug target is a key molecule involved in particular metabolic signaling pathway which is associated with a specific disease, pathology, infectivity, survival of microbial pathogen. Potential drug targets are not essentially disease causing but may be disease modifying. Small molecules will be designed to enhance or inhibit the disease modifying pathway.

Molecular modeling

Molecular modeling is application of computational techniques to understand the behavior of molecules. It is used in fields of computational biology and drug design. Molecular modeling helps in studying molecular systems ranging from small chemical systems to large biological molecules.
